whos got one?

saw it on wired a couple days ago and was just enthralled. the thing is so beautiful. relatively heavy, stainless steel, turns so nicely, nice little button (doesnt have a "click" to it, but still nice nonetheless) and the blue glow from under it is so, so lovely.

the drivers for it are great, you can customize it quite a bit and its OS9 and X compatible. i plugged it into the "left" USB port on my keyboard, with my mouse on the right. you can make the wheel turn and button clicks do anything that you could do with a keyboard shortcut. for instance, my button push in IE is set for apple - [ which is "back" on the browser.

the bad part? 45 dollars for a funny little glowing knob. so far i feel its well worth it though.

I got one in January.

I absolutely love it to pieces, although there are a couple of problems with it in OS X, sometimes it just stalls and you have to unplug it and plug it in again. And I mailed the guys at Griffin about it not accessing the systems own volume controls (I like the little icons that come up) and they said that there was no way of doing it as yet in X but they had talked to Apple about it and it will be supported in a future version of the operating system.

Anyway, neither of those things should mar what is a damn fine product.
If it rained soup I'd have a fork in my hand!

its the most mac-like non-apple peripheral i can think of. well made, works well, looks great. i cant say enough about it. im so stoked on my powermate.

i really like those OSX "volume" and "brightness" icons that pop up too. well have to see what the future brings.
