c'mon FedEx, where's my new iPod??

So has anyone received his or her new 10 GB iPod ordered from the online Apple Store yet? Mine shipped on Monday, and according to FedEx has been sitting in their sorting facility in Anchorage, Alaska for over a day now, waiting to clear customs. Doesn't this sound vaguely familiar to anyone else??
The package is still scheduled for delivery tomorrow according to the automated FedEx tracking 800 number, but after talking to a real-live person they say they have no control over how long it will take to clear customs.
I'm not bitching, since I know I'm lucky (or stupid) to even get a 10 GB one, but I am really curious to know if this customs hold-up on new products shipped direct from Taiwan always have this problem entering the country, or what.
So anyone else having the same problem?

Ordered mine from the Apple online store last Thursday - received it Monday. Sorry to hear about the delay you are experiencing. Hang in there, it's worth the wait.

I ordered my 10 gigger on the day they were launched and i'm still waiting, (<JG> I think you have mine!!) The Apple Store has been very mediocre, it said under review for about 4 days, then sat on under construction for a day, it then completely skipped being prepped for shipping and just went straight to shipping, that was about an hour ago, I phoned them up to ask when I can expect it and they said it was still out in Asia somewhere and basically they didn't know but probably about another 5 working days !! AAAAARGH!!!
They could get it here by attaching it to a pigeon's leg in that amount of time, anyway, hopefully like you say, it's worth the wait!

I ordered mine last Thursday and asked for Fed Ex 2 day shipping. It arrived at my house this Monday. This was through the Apple web site.

hi, i ordered mine (also 10GB) last friday, and it isn't shipped yet.
they told me that it would take at least 1,5 week...
but i'm afraid that it's going to take longer as these things usually do with me..

Woohoo! I guess the customs backlog or whatever it was got straightened out, because my iPod just showed up an hour ago!! I figured once it cleared customs it'd be quick to make it the rest of the way, but this is even better than I'd hoped.
