I am longing to see some sort of home entertainment device.
Digital Audio out.
150GB or more Hard drive space
TV tuner
Wireless Card
10/100 Ethernet
Firewire port on front and rear.

This device would have it's own built-in menu system. With the drive space you could record movies like todays Tivo's. Connect to it via firewire with your ipod to upload music for playback. Connect via wireless or ethernet from laptop/desktop to copy over additional music. Be able to watch recorded movies via ethernet/wireless to your computer or stream audio mp3's...

So, when will we see something like this?

Isn't TiVo having financial problems? It appears that the only way for big sales is to hook up with Echostar. Although I suppose AT&T cable might be an other alternative. (I don't think they have a PVR for their MPEG2 streams like Dish does)

Anyway my point is that I'm not sure this would be wise financially. (Although if they did have one for AT&T cable, I'd buy it immediately - I'm not yet that fond of the dishes)
