Q1; I'd like to know Timewise how much raw/digitised DV footage (say in QT format) I can save to the iPod's 5GB HD.
Q2; I'd also like to know if there is or if anyone knows if there will/probably be an audio in soloution for say a microphone (via Firewire???), at all?

P.S waying up wether to sell my Cube and PC for a new iMac, ummmmm.

It all depends on how you encode you footage, you could store about a half a DVD in MPEG 2 or you could store about five DVIX movies on your ipod.
Audio in, I don't think they will have a fire wire mic, you will have to wait for ipod2 to come out with a 20 gig drive and equilizer

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!

If you're going for movies, buy a real FireWire drive. iPod is way too small for that kind of stuff.

To actually answer your questions.

1) If by raw, you mean (as I suspect you do) uncompressed video, according to Apple's tool for calculating diskspace/time ratio-see here- 5 GB of space will hold 22 min of video.

2) Certianlly seems a posibility, but nothing has been announced.

Paco is bitter about the loss of his .mac webpage. Image will return when his sadness lessens.
