Anyone got any good handheld GPS recommendations that'll link up with a Mac?

Rumor has it that GPSy for X is forthcoming. Compatible handhelds (with their "classic" software) are listed at their web site.

I have a Garmin eMap. good stuff. it will work with gpsy buy you need the link cable and a "PDA" adapter basically, a serial to usb connector. i have not tried this but it looks like it would work. i would buy a gps with "WAAS" some of the etrexs have that capability i would go for them. Definitly get the one with mapping. Go for a Garmin they are the best.

I have the handyGPS plugin for the Visor. It seems to suck. The maps are only for USA and they take a ton of room, so forget downloading all the maps for your cross country trip. Massachusetts took up most of my 8mb. It is not powerful enough to get connection in a moving car, so only useful when walking around.

not.
