Does anyone like their software. It seems the old interesting thing they make is the web wheel. The options in the software stink. For Trackballs with out a scroll wheel, an option to make a button activate the ball as a scroll wheel would have been nice. How about being able to assign different actions for clicking a button while a modifer is pressed (ctrl., opt., cmd., shift, etc.)?

I wish someone would make a universal mouse software package that provided options like Kensington Mouseworks. And USB Overdrive is not up to the task. It needs to allow different settings for each button for each device, modifer + clicks and a much better autoscroll set up as well as scroll options, like click + scroll.

I have USB Overdrive configured for each button of my Logitech MouseMan (3 buttons + clickable wheel) and also configured for each buttons of my GravisPad controller (10 buttons!)
Also, keep in mind that the scroll wheel was invented by M$, so it's "suppose" to work better on Windows...
I'm rather happy with what USB Overdrive is able to do, although I have written to the creator about mapping commands to specific letters instead of keyboard strokes. (ie when I change from QWERTY to Dovrak, cmd-w becomes cmd-, which is annoying...)
G4/450, T-bird 1.05GHz, iBook 500, iBook 233...4 different machines, 4 different OSes...(9, 2k, X.1, YDL2.2 respectively) PiA to maintain...

Is there any way to get UT to recognized the scroll wheel? It only recognizes it as a button. I want to be able to use the wheel to scroll through my weapons. i.e. scroll up - next weapon
scroll down - previous weapon

Will USB overdrive allow me to do this?

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

Probably not. This is because InputSprockets does not see mouse wheels.

Hey its better than windows. I have 3 games I can not even figure how to modify my joystick controls for and you can not disable controls in some games. In InputSprockets you can simply set all thebuttons to do nothing and save that set, although it would be nice if there was just a disable option in InputSprockets.

Unfortunately MechWarrior 3, FreeSpace 2 and Tachyon are not avaliable for the Mac which are the only things that make want to keep that piece of crap PC I want to shoot daily.

I think the Apple Sprockets now support multi-button mouse, however, still doesn't support wheel-mouse. There are only a handful of Mac-compatible mouse that has scroll wheels, mostly from Logitech and the optical from M$ and maybe a few more, so Apple engineers are a bit lazy with it...

USBOverdrive does allow you to use your scroll wheel in all input sprocket games.
