After upgrading my laptop G3 OS from 8.5 to 9.0, I lost the function of my old b&w StyleWriter II. There is no icon for this printer in the Chooser box and I have lost the installer disk. Any suggestions.

While the users of the MacNN forums are very interested in helping you, I think we get frustrated by posters who don't put any effort into helping us troubleshoot the issue at hand. You let your threads languish; tell us if the issue is resolved! Why should we help you if you don't even write three sentences describing your problem? It just seems very one-sided. We're here to help, but you need to help us.

Sean, don't beat up the new users.

Clarity, this is more of a MacOS/printer driver problem, not specifically a Powerbook problem.

I'm going to transfer it to peripherals where you may get better advice.

First check your extensions folder, make sure you've got the Stylewriter extension.. If not, you should be able to download it from Apple's Website.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the SW 1200 or 1500 driver could be used for the older ones with the newer OS versions. You could try that. If it doesn't work, go to this link at Apple's ftp site. You might find the driver you need there.
