I got iDVD2 to run on my powerbook with a patch. But now I'm wondering if an external superdrive will be seen by the program?

Everything I've read says iDVD will only recognize internal devices.

I thought the latest patch was specifically to support external drives? (I thought the patch was released within the past month or so....)

That would be DVD Studio Pro ( http://www.apple.com/dvdstudiopro ) you're think of.

iDVD 2 does not support any third party drives, only Apple-installed internal DVD-R drives.

iDVD 2 does NOT support external drives. DVD Studio Pro 1.2 ($999) however does.
