Here is a wierd one - at least to me, After I burn a CD-RW disk, I can read it fine i nthe internal CD Drive, but not in the new QUE drive (where it was just "burnt")! The QUEW drive can mount and read CD-R and CD-ROM disks, but when I put the CD-RW disk in and try to mount it or get info, it doesn't think there is a disk in the drive!

Some particulars - iMAC DV/SE running OS8.6 wiht Firewire drivers 2.3.3, QUE Firewire 8x4x32x drive, Memorex CD-RW Platinum disks, Toast 4.1 OEM Software.

Burning CD-R disks works fine, and the data burned to a CD-RW seems fine when read with the internal disk.

Anybody see this before? Any help?

Thanks...

Update to FW 2.4 from http://asu.info.apple.com, and try mounting the disk from within Toast, by hitting Command-M (or going "Mount CD-ROM" in the menu).

I have read some bad reviews of Memorex CD media. You might want to try a different brand of CD-RW discs and see if the problem still exists.

Thanks for the tips. Well, I tried the CD-RW Disc that came with the drive (unknown brand) and it seems to work fine... So far!

Amazingly enough, I put one of the Memorex discs back in the drive and it mounted. Trying another, no dice...

For fun, I even tried my Memorex discs in my PC and they read fine.

I downloaded Firewire 2.4.4, but havn't tried it yet since it says it is compatible with OS9, and I'm running 8.6.

Thanks for your help...
