I cannot get this drive to recognise Toast 4.1 OEM so I'm stuck using 4.0.2 OEM + Lacie have told me there is no support for this drive when using it with Toast 4.1 Delux (i.e. they are not compatible) can this be true, personally I cannot believe this?
P.S I had to go through a very particular process to get Toast 4.0.2 OEM to see my burner, ironically these instructions were given to me by someone in these forums to get Toast 4.1 OEM to see my drive, but although they did the trick with 4.0.2 they will not work at all for 4.1.
The original version of Toast I received with my Burner was Toast 3.8.1 OEM which worked flawlessly with my burner as 4.0.2 seems to be doing, so I have encountered none of the usual USB burner type probs but I am seriously concerned with Toast/Adaptec as this is the premiere burning software on the Mac but it currently has some serious installation/stability & compatibility issues.
Adaptec need's to sort this out, fast.
(Is this one of the reasons the hardware & software side of adaptec are splitting?)
Unhappy Toast user
Also Lacie & Adaptec's on & off-line support seriously need's sorting out to.

Hello roders,

What is your inquiry string for the La Cie 4x2x8? I've got this drive working fine with Toast 4.1, both OEM and Deluxe. Also, try updating your USB firmware on the bridge with the newly released Silverlining 6.3 (remove all Toast and Apple Mass Storage drivers first).

Cheers,

Adam

Thanx for the reply "Adam1234" .
I am a little confused by some of the things you mention in your post, such as the Inquiry string? I've got no idea what this is!
You also say "try updating your USB firmware on the bridge with the newly released Silverlining 6.3"
I have obtained the Flash Rom from Mitsumi, the makers of the drive mechanism used in this burner, is this the same thing?
I'm sorry but I don't quite understand your post, I have an idea what your telling me about but I have never heard it put in the way you have, so I am still a little worried as to whether I correctly understand you or not.
I appreciate your you replying to my post and would be gratefull for a response.
