I know the specs don't mention Mac, but that doesn't always mean it won't work in a Mac. Anybody know if I can stick this baby in a Quicksilver and start burning some Mooooooovies?

I have heard that iDVD won't work with non-Apple firmware, so I assume I'd have to use DVD Studio Pro?

AKAIK,

it works. DVD 2 WILL recognize an internal burner, NOT an external one though, so you'll be able to use iDVD2.

for more info, ask the guys at www.2-pop.com, lots of info and experts around.

Also, you can buy the internal drive for $350, I don't remember where though. search the web (pricewatch, dealmac, google)

hope that helps

DV_DUDE, thanks for sharing. That is too cool!

With DVD-R's going into computers like the iMac, prices should continue to drop!!!

Any thoughts on how well it will perform in a QS 733? I'm guessing it should do just fine.

I installed the DVR-A03 in my G4 450 and use it with iDVD2 and DVDSP without a hitch. Already burnt about 10 DVD's and not a single coaster....pretty good! Good luck with it!!
<btw: http://www.shopharmony.com had the drive really cheap a month or so ago...forget how much though>
doug

That's great! I should save a little change by purchasing a 733 then stuffing the DVR-A03 in there. I just wish the new iMac wasn't limited to mirror mode, because I'd add a 17" LCD and be in heaven!
