NetWork printer error, occupied by AppleTalk

We have a new HP 2100, it is set up on a linksys print server. We can see the printer inthe chooser using the LaserJet 8 printer driver. However it fales to self configure itself. Also, when we attempt to print, the status of the printer is online, the it flashes 84 OCCUPIED BY AppleTalk.

After a few moments a dialog box opens which states the printer is online but either not responding or accepting print ques.

Any thoughts on how to help the printer and computer communicate properly.
