Ok: here's the scenario:
Radiostudio-setup:
- 9600 running OS8.1
- PT drive(s) on 2940UW (external)
- Plextor 40x and Yamaha 4x CDR on Apple bus
All WAS working fine: we use the Plextor for grabbing.
Upgraded to 8.6: apple-drivers on internal and FWB 3.02 on external audio-drives.
(and yes: Flashed the 2940, Powerdomain 5.1...the works)
SCSI-probe will see the Plextor, but nothing will mount (Zapped PRAM, Clean install, external startup etc.)
Replaced the Apple CD/DVD driver with 7.6.1. set (Audio CD/ISO/Foreign File etc.): I remember this worked for me once, since the DVD-driver won't recognise 'strange' CDROM drives sometimes. Didn't make any difference...
Should I accept that under OS8.6, I would need CDROM Toolkit or Speedtools ?
