Before my trusty old Apple Stylewriter gave out, I was getting this error "Desktop printer unknown error "192" at '18'". Pushing the enter key did away with the message. Now, I am using a new Epson 740 with my PowerMac 7100 and I'm getting the same message. Can't find anything that would generate this. Any ideas?
Also, the Epson didn't produce a printer icon on my desktop like the Stylewriter did. Hope you can help.

First off, the Epson does not support desktop printing, so you will not see that.

As for the other, I would start trashing printing prefs. If that doesn't work, I would do a clean system install. Something in the system is not happy when printing occurs. That may be the chooser, so clean install would get you all new control panels and such.

This may sound drastic, but unless someone rushes in with help, I'd spend my Sunday afternoon reinstalling.
