I was thinking about purchasing an Epson EPL 5500i USB Laser printer and it says for it's consumable life, That the toner cart is about 6000pages and the Photoconductor capacity is 20,000 pages.. Now is this good? This is less than 4 toner replacements. What it seems like to me is that the printer can print 20,000 pages and then it's time to get a new printer. Am I right??? Please help

I'm not sure exactly, but I bought a Personal Laserwriter 300 back in '94 and it still work flawlessly.
It's safe to assume you won't need another printer for a long, long time.

I think all the parts in the laser printer that has a page limit can be taken out and replaced when necessary.

It is not uncommon to have to replace the photoconductor unit on color laser printers, but the EPL 5700i seems to be a B/W printer. The photoconductor units can be quite expensive on other printers, but I'm not sure about this exact Epson.

Don't know if this relates - but, have been using an Spple LaserWriter Select 360 since 1994 or 5 (approx) - this sucker has put out about 70,000 pages so far, and never a hint of a problem.
The specs say its useful life is estimated at 300,000 prints.
