I just got a imac DV with several peripherals
(scanner, printer, superdisk and 4 port USB HUB). Everything ran pretty well except for
the EPSON 740 USB. When I want to print a photograph, it does not print out completely.
I read in EPSON FAQ webb that you have to disconnect the USB cable from the hub and connect the printer cable to the imac itself.
Since the imac has only two USB connections,
I am using one of them for the mouse.
How am I going to use the 4 port hub?

I have a 4 port Hub and my Epson 740 is plugged directly into it and I have never had any problems. I use the Hub for my scanner too. The Hub is plugged into my keyboard. My Zip is plugged directly into the computer, because I was told you run the risk of losing data if it's connected to the Hub. I have an iMac 333, so don't know if the newer models have to be configured differently.

One thing that might work is to plug the printer into the No. 1 port of the USB hub. That's what I had to do with mine and a MacAlly hub. Also, there have been some problems with some hubs and OS 9. Which hub is this?

The manual that came with my 740i said to hook it up to the first port on the hub. Mine works perfectly hooked up to my Ugly Hub (that's its name, I swear!) along with a scanner, iSub, and Zip drive. I've got a Macally extended keyboard hooked up to the other USB port with an iShock and Intellimouse Explorer. Never had any problems.

A suggesion. If you're using the regular iMac keyboard, connect your mouse and the printer to the two USB ports in the keyboard. Connect the SuperDisk and the hub to the Imac. And go from there.

If you haven't done so already, trash all Epson Print Class files.
