There are currently 3 mice on the market that rise above the rest, but in different ways. If someone were to combine the best features of each of these mice, then we would have the perfect mouse. The mice, along with each mouse's standout feature(s), are:

1. Apple bluethooth mighty mouse: The scroll ball, as opposed to the more traditional scroll wheel, is a positive addition to mouse technology. Keep this. However, the touch-sensitive technology doesn't work well. In order to right click, one must raise his left finger off of the mouse's surface, and click with only the right finger touching the mouse. If both fingers are touching simultaneously, it will always result in a left click. Furthermore, the side buttons require you to use too much pressure. This makes it slightly uncomfortable to click. All in all, keep the scroll BALL; lose the rest.

2. Logitech 530 for Mac: It's white and silver. It matches the mac, consumer or pro.

3. Logitech Revolution: This mouse seems to provide more, and better, functionality than any other mouse on the market. It's free scrolling technology is nice, as well. It's thumb buttons are very nice, as well. Use the thumb scroll wheel for zooming, and the back/forward thumb buttons for web browsing. Fantastic.

So, if anyone wishes to produce the perfect mouse, just do the following (assuming patent law will allow it, which it probably won't ): Make it LOOK like the Logitech 530, give it a freespinning scrollBALL by combining the Apple Mighty Mouse and Logitech Revolution, and give it the thumb wheel & thumb browsing buttons of the Logitech Revolution.

Who wouldn't buy that? I know I would.

I love two kinds of mice. This one Google Image Result for http://www.guidebookgallery.org/pics/extras/videos/applepromouse/01.jpg
and any standard two-button with wheel optical or laser mouse. If Apple could get the whole no-button/two-button thing to work, the mighty mouse would be perfect for me, except that the ball is too small.

Yeah, the ball is definately too small. It should be three times as large as it is.

I've always felt like Logitech makes the best mouse in terms of ergonomics, funcionality, and solid feel.
