I can't get my software (PhotoShop 5.5) to recognize the scanner (which the computer recognizes so I know it's hooked up correctly). I'm using a 9600/233 with nearly 200 MB RAM; the scanner is connected via SCSI.
PhotoShop 5.5 did not come with a Twain driver so I added it from v 5.0.2. However, when I click on Acquire and select either Twain Select or Twain Acquire (in either version of PhotoShop, incidentally), the machine crashes forthwith. As there doesn't seem to be any way to start the Epson software independently except through PhotoShop (or some other program), I'm at a loss as to how to go about using the scanner. Manuals and downloaded FAQs are not helpful. Anyone using this scanner successfully?
