No 32-bit color with 3dfx Voodoo 5500

I have a G4/400 and just installed a 3dfx Voodoo 5500. My problem is that I can't get any games to run in 32-bit mode (Deus Ex, Diablo II, UT). It worked fine with my ATI card before (I took it out when I installed the Voodoo). I have the latest drivers for the Voodoo card and latest updates for the games. Any suggestions?

What happens when you try to switch between 16-and 32-bit colour? A crash? Messed up colours? Or some sort of message?
Living, working, and freezing in the Canadian north.

Well, I figured it out. It just wouldn't let me select 32-bit at all. But then I chose OpenGL instead of Glide and that fixed the problem.
