I am getting a C2D MBP shortly and am interested in a good USB memory card reader that reads any type of memory card on the market. I had a Toshiba Laptop before that included this but since my MBP doesn't I will be purchasing one. Since it's a portable computer I'm interested in something compact. Any suggestions?

I forgot to add this to an earlier post but I'm purchasing a new MBP but don't think the 2 USB ports are enough. I want to get a HUB that adds at least 3 or more USB 2.0 ports but since it's a laptop something that is very compact. I see a lot but want something that works well with Mac computer. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Any USB hub that you find at RadioShack, Wal-Mart, etc. will work fine.

Get a known brand that is labeled "USB 2.0" to make sure you get what you need. "Bob's Electronics and Storm Door Company" brand is NOT worth the money, no matter how cheap it is-because CHEAP is all it'll turn out to be.

(And I'm going to merge these two threads-you should have posted a follow up in the original one instead of starting an almost identical new thread.)

I have been happy with the SanDisk ImageMate x-in-1 readers. I used a 6-in-1 for a few years, and recently replaced it with a 12-in-1 (which shows up in Aperture as '14-in-1') because I needed MS Pro Duo compatibility.

I consider them to be solid and reliable.

I'd also check that the reader reads large memory cards - I got burned with a USB reader that's only a year or two old, but only reads SD cards up to 512Mb!
