I wish Apple Insider was still a souce of actual inside news. I want to buy a new phone (I don't really need one) and the rumors of an Apple made phone have got me worked up.

I don't want it because of crappy mp3 playback- everyone does that now and I already have an iPod. I want an Apple phone because of all the cool syncing stuff they will hopefully do with it, and because of the slick clean design they are sureto give it. I imagine there will be some cool PDA like funtions, and hopefully a digital camera better than 1.5 mpx.

But I'm a dreamer.

I'm thinking (read "hoping") they will announce these at Mac World '07 in January. It's no secret they are working on one and that it will probably be a Cingular exclusive at first.

It may never happen. There have been fake mock-ups before. There have been videos of products that don't exist. You jsut can't tell when it comes to these things.

I know where you are coming from, AI sucks now. It used to be the most dependable rumour site, and now that it has obviously almagamated with Macnn it now has the same CPU intensive and irritating banner adds as Macnn, and no real news at all besides that analytical rubbish for the most part

As for the phone.. No idea, but im interested in one too

I remember that I delayed my purchase of an iMac for 4 months because of the rumored iMac DVs, and boy was I glad that I did!! I can't be mad at Apple for shutting down the rumor mill, cuz it had the exact negative retail effect that Apple said it did.
