I was at OfficeMax the other day and saw the new HP 952c printer. Besides the $100 cost difference and that the 952c prints a teeny bit slower, does anyone know what other main differences there are btwn these 2 printers?

It seems that the big difference (aside from the printing speed) is that the 970C series comes with a duplexer, so it will print on both sides of a page automatically. The 952 doesn't come with the duplex module (though you can apparently add one later).
