I have a 12x10x32 Quefire CDRW drive from QPS. I bought it less than a year ago. For the past week, when I have tried to burn anything, the drive makes a series of screeching noises, about 15 in total in groups of 3 and then spits up the following error message (along with a nice new coaster)

The file "Desktop DF" could not be accessed. (Datafork, -36).

I have tried calling QPS several times. I get put on hold for many minutes and I end up leaving a message (which they say they will return). I have left several messages and no response yet.

Rather dissappointing customer support.

Does it mount discs fine? Are there any marrings on the coasters?

And yes, Que! can be rat bastardly for support... about as bad as Quark.

Yes, the drive can mount and read a CD just fine. No there are no marks on the disc.
