CD-ROM Drive problems?

I have a G3/233 Desktop. The CD drive has been having increasing trouble mounting CDs. The OS9 CD will no longer mount as well as others that used to mount. Audio CDs mount and play fine as well as some other non-audio CDs. I get the message that asks if I want to initialize the media. Anyone have any ideas? Is there anything to clean on the drive? I have booted with minimal OS9 extensions and the problem still persists. If I should need to replace it any ideas on a source for replacement parts.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Bob

I've been having a similar problem with by Powerbook G3 Lombard. Sporadic CD mounting: it's weird, it's frustrating and it's not damn good enough.
