A while back, there was an article in MacAddict about things to do with old computers. One if the ideas was turning an old tower case into a big SCSI drive rack for internal drives. Since I've got a PTPro with a fried motherboard and several SCSI drives (the internal SCSI bus on the G3 isn't working for some reason, and the cases for these external drives are going although the drives themselves are fine), I thought I might try this.

The big problem is that I need something to convert a ribbon cable to the 25-pin external SCSI connector so that I can then hook this into my Beige G3's SCSI port. I know these things exist; the article mentioned them. But for the life of me, I can't find them anywhere. No store around here has even heard of the things, and even some of the more far-flung sites on the Web don't seem to know what I'm talking about. Anyone out there know where I can get one of these adapters? Thanks!

Have any old drive cases lying around? Those have ribbon to 50-pin converters in them, and some of them are removeable.
It may not work, but it's worth a try for the price.
