Hi,
I'm considering buying a new hard drive to add to my existing stock 10gb drive in my g4 350 sawtooth. What speed of drive can I use? Am I limited to 5400rpm drives or can I use 7200 rpm drives? Also, what is the difference between ATA66(which I believe my G4 is) and ATA100? Lastly, anyone know of any hot deals on drives that are in the 10-20gb range? Thanks

You can use any speed drive. 7200 is optimal - if you could get a 10000 rpm one though, you could use it too

Definately go for 7200, the difference is noticable.

ATA/66 and ATA/100 is just the speed of the ATA - 66 meg as opposed to 100 meg.

Its backwards compatible - you can use an ATA/100 drive on an ATA/66 or ATA/33 bus. No problems

I recommend an IBM Deskstar 60 series - thats the successor to the 75GXP. Heh... IBm needs to learn to count. Anyway, the IBM's are the best
