Okay, I know I'm dreaming but there have been numerous posts regarding TV tuners for the Mac. Apparently, I'm not the only one who wants to rid my big honking TV and make more space.

I know Sharp has a 20 inch flat display with tuner as does Samsung.
The Sharp model looks cool but I can't say the same for the Samsung. Apple needs to re-design the cinema display so that it contains a TV tuner. Sure it'll be expensive, but at least there is value added in that it has more than one purpose. It effectively can compete with those 42" flat displays costing thousands more (yeah they're double the size but I 'm okay to watch a movie on a 22" incher)

The only problem is that I recall Steve Jobs some time way back saying that he didn't believe in the convergence of TV and computer.

I'm not sure that the average video picture has enough pixel resolution for a Cinema Display, though...

Why add the expense of the tuner to the display where if it goes, so does your display to be repaired.

HDTV TV cards are just around the corner with some available now sans Mac drivers. Standard TV cards and USB devices are available to to drive TV to your screen and you can shrink the window, watch TV, and still surf rather than switch back and forth.

Or, buy a refurbished first generation 15 inch Apple Studio Display and use a VCR as a tuner to make it your second monitor/TV screen for your Mac.

I remember some where that good old steve hated the idea of the computer and the tv being joined, I think he said, When you watch tv you shut of your brain but on the computer you it needs to be an inlightening experience. or some thing like that. it'll never happen sorry
