Hi All,
I've got a B&W G3 with a DVD problem: it'll only play movies about 1/2 way through, then the moview stutter and I get a message that the DVD drive is having trouble playing the movie and it quits.
This happens even if I jump to that area of the movie through the chapter selection capability of the DVD.
The movies don't always quit at exactly the same place, but close.
It happens to _every_ DVD I play (frustrating!)
When this machine was new, it played DVDs with no problem, but the machine has not been heavily used for the last year and a half or so. I've only just started using it again (basically as a machine for the kids,and as a DVD player, natch!)
It's a 400Mhz Blue and White G3, running OS 9.1 with tons of RAM (this machine has a DVD decoder on the built-in ATI RAGE 128 card, and therefor requires DVD player 1.3)
The DVD drive is a MAT****A, Revision number: D54A with
Product ID: DVD-ROM SR-8583
Can anyone help me out here? I just got Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon for my B-day and I want to watch this sucker! (and the kids are driving me crazy, watching Toy Story 2 only half way over and over and over! Arrrgh!)
