I wish to know if it is possible to buy a Firewire Enclosure for a 40GB EIDE HD I have sitting at home not being used. I would like to get it completely BUS powered so it can be semi portable but if not that's okay. Can someone point me to some refernces and/or online stores?

I don't think you'll find bus powered enclosures for that drive. The bus powered drives tend to use 2.5 inch laptop drives that run 4200rpm. The 3.5 drives are 5400 or 7200rpm, which means they need more power.

ADS makes a enclosure kit. You can also find them at www.FireWireDirect.com and www.otherworldcomputing.com. Be sure to get one that uses the Oxford911 chipset to get the best speed out of the drive that you can.
