Hey all. My Intellimouse has officially died on me. When I plug it in, the LED doesn't light up and nothing responds. So, I called Microsoft and they said they would get back to me in 24 hours.

My question is, seeing as these mice have a lifetime limited warrenty, have the people who have had theirs die, had good results from MS support? Hopefully they will replace mine, did they replace yours?

good news. My intellimouse Optical died about like that about 3 months ago. I called up MS customer support and jumped through some hoops, but they sent me a new mouse. Plus, they said my model was no longer available (though I've seen it for sale since then), so they gave me an upgrade (two more buttons for a total of 5). I didn't have to send back the dead one, but it did take a few weeks for the replacement to arrive.

In the meantime I had bought a Kensington mouse-in-a-box (the low end one), and it sucks a big one...

Ah, good good!

Thanks Lucy, that's what I wanted to hear!

Fortunately, the mouse that crapped out on me was the black one with 5 buttons.
