I was wondering what DVD players are able to read Superdrive burned DVDs. I own a Playstation 2 and use it as a DVD player. Does anyone know if Superdrive burned DVDs and the PS2 are compatible?

I have read in the Deal Mac forums that it is. I can't verify, because I don't had PS2 and I'm waiting for my Dual 800 to arrive.

The following Apple link has a (not very complete) list of compatible players:
http://www.apple.com/dvd/compatibility/
While PS2 is not listed, most of the Sony players are shown as compatible, so that may increase your chances.
Before ordering my 800DP, I did a fair amount of web-searching to find out if my Toshiba SD2109 was compatible with DVD-R (I didn't stick to only Superdrive in my searches). I did find some sites that dealt with DVD-R compatibility, so you might try a little surfing (I didn't bookmark any of the sites I found, so I can't list them here).
I came to the conclusion that my player was not compatible, which factored into my decision to get the CD-RW and wait for DVD-R. Besides, I figured that DVD-R has a ways to go, both in capability and in price. Hopefully, we'll be able to eventually burn dual layer discs, so we can get 3-4 hrs on a disc (and hopefully for less than $5/disc).

Wow, I was under the impression that the SuperDrive was DVD-R.
I guess I don't understand how you inferred that I was suggesting the Superdrive wasn't DVD-R. I did quite a bit of searching on the net for information that would tell me if Superdrive recorded discs would play on my Toshiba SD2109 DVD player. I couldn't find this information anywhere.
I then expanded my searches to look for DVD-R info (knowing that Superdrive is just a fancy name Apple gives to this drive). The only info I could find that specifically addressed my model of DVD player was some DVD-R compatibility data that dated back to last year, before the Superdrive was available. This data indicated that DVD-R 4.7 GB discs would not play on my DVD player.
I combined that with the fact that you can only record 1 hour with iDVD (soon to be 1.5 hrs with the new release) and the high cost of DVD-R media (at least $10/disc) to come to the conclusion I would wait to add DVD-R capability to my setup. In another year or two, we'll probably be able to record 2 hours on a single-layer disc, and maybe up to four hours on a dual-layered disc or double-sided disc. I really don't want to have to use two DVD-Rs to replace a single 2-hour video tape.
