sorry im a newb

but I would like to know how to connect the DDTS-100 to my macbook pro with the optical audio cable

I thought i could simply plug in the optical cable to each then the 5.1 green,black and orange cables
from my speakers to the audio outputs on the back of the DDTS.

any help would be greatly appreciated

it works fine when i use it with my dvd player but for some reason when i try to connect it to my macbook i only get sound from the macbook speakers.

Apple Menu > System Preferences > Sound > change to digital out.
