I deleted a network printer, but it still generates entries in /var/log/cups/error_log:

E [date/time here] load_job: Unable to queue job for destination "http://127.0.0.1:0/printers/foo"!
E [date/time here] LoadJobs: Job error; deleting file "c00008"
...
E [date/time here] load_job: Unable to queue job for destination "http://127.0.0.1:0/printers/foo"!
E [date/time here] LoadJobs: Job error; deleting file "c00024"

Exactly the same entries appear each time when this happens. The printer foo was deleted from the GUI and is not in cupsd.conf.

Any idea what these entries are? Is it possible that this is an old queue that wasn't deleted?

Sounds like it to me. There are some pending jobs for that printer, and when it cannot be found, those entries are written to the error log. Have a look at Printer Setup Utility, that should clarify whether there are any orphaned jobs lying around.

I could be wrong, but that's all I can think of right now.

The problem is that the printer is deleted and doesn't show in the GUI or cupsd.conf. There were quite a few entries in /var/spool/cups, some of them with numbers that correspond to the error log entries. I deleted everything in that directory, hopefully this will fix the problem.
