Greetings,

Why is it that non-Apple external scsi cdrom's will boot macs (68K & PPC) designed before the iMac and blue & white G3's and even desktop mount itself w/o fwb as long as a bootable cd diskette was preloaded before bootup from the internal scsi(eide) hard drive?

additionally, has anyone had success overwriting internal cdrom firmware to"convert" the scsi cdrom drive into a mac cdrom drive?
