I bought a 2.5" enclosure for my old 2GB HD from my PBG3. I plug the drive into my mac and it said it was unreadable and it needed to be initialized. Since I didn't need the data on the dive I told it to proceed. It starts to format it then fails. After try this 3 or 4 times I put it back in my PowerBook, zeroed the drive and tried again with the same result. I suspect the drivers that came with this enclosure suck. One thing I did notice id that unlike in my Powerbook, the four right most pins are not plugged into anything. Could this be the problem or could it be the USB driver and if so what is a good Diver/formatter for USB drives?

The four rightmost pins are probably power-related, but I don't know. Maybe there's a separate internal connector that didn't get shipped with the case.

As for USB drivers, you'll need to contact the folks who made the case. Most USB cases require a special formatting program, since Drive Setup won't recognize anything on the USB as a storage option. That you even got it to START formatting is unbelievable.
