Hi,

I have a iMac 24" on it's way to me with a 500GB drive. I have also ordered a Western Digital 250GB MyBook Pro USB/Firewire 400/800 to make backups with. I am new to Macs (Windows bod all my life - Not for much longer!)

I want to make backups using SuperDuper but don't know how I should set up the external drive. I am not worried about the type of format but more the partition sizes? How is the iMac drive set up and should I mirror it's size? I was thinking of having three partitions, one for old backup, one for current and one for odds n ends.

Thanks Jono.

Thanks, I know where to do it, I just would like to know if I should set them to certain sizes or does it not matter (As long as the copy can fit).

You do not have to create a partition to match the size of your internal drive. You can if you wish, but you don't have to.
