Just wondering if this incredible high-quality display is used by any Graphic Artists/Designers on a professional basis, I will be starting Graphic Design studies later on this year and I am considering the 15"LCD or the 17"CRT Apple Studio. I would appreciate any advice/feedback on the 15"LCD or the 17"CRT, Thanking you in advance -

From what I've heard LCD displays are inferior when it comes to correct color reproduction, CRT's are better for design work in that respect.

Not only is color not accurately represented but you will be stuck at 1024x768 on a 15" flat panel...that's going to be torture trying to do any graphics work in that tiny space.

I must disagree with the previous posts. I have a LaCie 19" Electron Blue running at 1028. I could run it at a higher resolution but I like how I can see individual pixels (which is very handy for web design). If you are like me and you spend 5+ hours at a time staring at the screen you will pine for an LCD. I just got a TiBook and while the screen isn't as good as the Studio Display it is by far better to look at than my CRT. The Studio Display is about 30% brighter and better than the Ti. I would also suggest that at optimum viewing position the Studio Display is about 80% as good as a good CRT color-wise. If you are doing really critical work you should have the money for a Studio Display AND a 19" monitor so you can get the best of both worlds but for anything less I think the Studio Display will be an excellent choice.

15" is just too small.
Full stop, thats the end of it, IMO...

1024*768... no way.

Get a 19" at least... or several (19" adn 15" etc) or something...

Colour reproduction shouldn't be as much of an issue as it used to be -- there are now colour calibrators on the market that will work with LCD displays. And if you use spot colour like Pantone, a swatch (which most Pantone users will have access to) is more than adequate.
