I'm planing to buy a G4 733 Edu. It's never been so cheap to buy a G4...
Well, here is my question: I don't have the money to buy a LCD monitor (if I had, I'd buy a 933 or dual giga) and would like to get a nice, reliable and WITH NO FLICKER 19" CRT. What do you people suggest and why?
thx for the help.

Go with a Mitsubishi 19". They're big, bright, and incredibly sharp. No flicker. Go check out the monitors in person before you purchase.

but if you read on LaCie's web site, the 19" electron blue is a Diamondtron Aperture Flat screen. If I am not mistaken, this tube is made by Mitsubishi (or NEC, same thing).
Am I right?

I bought the Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 73 17" CRT when I bought my 733 MHz G4 a few months back. It's a very nice bright, crisp monitor with the Diamondtron Aperture Flat Screen technology.

I got a KDS 19" Flat CRT for my PC. I like it.
(And I found it for a song at the local Sams Club).
I wish I bought two (one of the office). They had about 70 of them. The next day they were all gone. (Priced at $199 ... had I known that it was THAT good of a price I would have gotten two.)

I'd think twice before i bought a KDS CRT monitor...they tend to have a blueish hue to them and poor brightness. This might be ok in the PC world but it's hardly adequate for the Macintosh.
I say this as I look at my KDS display(we also have 15 of them at work...they all have the same blueish hue)

I dunno ... this one is a fairly new model. It's so bright that I have to turn it down. I don't see any bluish hue. (The colors are fairly close to my Mac 17" LCD ... not that one can compare a CRT to an LCD but still.)
It's worth looking at for comparison. If you like it it may save you some pesos.

I saw a new Formac 22" in the latest MacAddict... they gave it a wicked review.
failing that...the Lacie 19" is awesome, and crisp.
