Emergency! Monitor needed, but which one?

I need to buy a monitor immediately because my 7 year old Multiscan is about to bite the dust. Sickly lime green is not a great color to be staring into.
The hitch is I want to buy a good used one because I can't really afford more than about $225.
I have a G4 Power Mac tower (has clear 2-tone grey housing) that's about 2 1/2 yrs old and I definitely want a 17" monitor.
Can anyone recommend a monitor that is compatible with my computer, including a model number or features I should look for AND if you can, some recommendations where I might buy one (refurbished and tested) immediately, either online or near San Francisco? Were monitors made to match my G4?
