I have a '98 wallstreet powerbook G3 (292 MHz) running OS 8.6 and I am not quite ready to order my Ti Powerbook G4. I need to get a fast CD-RW now, but would like to buy a firewire drive as I will likely be upgrading the powerbook within 6 months. Does anyone have experience using either the LaCie Firewire CD-RW 16/10/40 or 12/10/32 or the QPS Firewire CD-RW 12/10/32 or others (e.g. sony, yamaha) with any of the available firewire cardbuses: e.g. orange micro, VST, macally (only c/w OS 9) in an older (nonfirewire) powerbook ?
