I just ordered a 10 gig ipod, and am wondering if I could somehow get it to work with my PowerShot G-2 digital camera. The first issue would be whether they could even sync-up with each other, the second is finding a USB to firewire adapter/converter that isn't externally powered. So far I have yet to find such an adapter on the web, but if this could some how work I would have 10 gigs of space to put pictures on where ever I go!!! flash cards are way to expensive, and I could get a 30 gig lacie pocket drive for the price of a 1-gig IBM microdrive so this would be the only alternitive right now.

Even if there was a USB to Firewire adapter, nothing short of writing entirely new firmware for the iPod yourself will let your camera and your iPod sync up.
Sorry.
I'd say wait until Apple comes out with the iCam. 4 Megapixels, 5 gig harddrive, Apple industrial design.
I tell you, I'm hoping.

Don't forget the standard Apple overpricing and the magnificent 90 day warranty.

Instead of a USB to Firewire converter, what about a firewire Smartmedia reader attached to the iPod?
Would the iPod mount the reader?
thanks,
