Yep, as you can tell from my post count, I'm a newbie here. And soon you will be able to tell that I'm a newbie to Apple computers as well. I've got a macbook and an LG CU500. I can get it to connect for a short time (about 2 minutes via bluetooth) at a slow speed. I've read any post I could find about tethering my phone to my mac but none seem to address a short disconnect issue. I can't seem to get the computer to recognize the phone with a USB cable to save my life either. I've spent hours trying to change settings per different suggestions I've found. Would someone be so kind to simplify the connect process for this phone. I'd like to see both GPRS and 3G speeds when available. I've had the phone connected to my PC running XP on a 3G system with a couple of hiccups (i.e. had to restart both phone and PC to connect) but haven't had any luck staying connected on the mac. The phone does have the latest (as far as I know) 8-06 firmware update. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Oh yeah, is there the possibility that the phone might charge off of the USB while tethered?

It sounds like you are trying to use the CU500 as "Phone as a Modem" for your internet connection - I have done with successfully with a RAZR, but have not yet gotten it to work with the CU500 (on either my PC or my MacBook). What software, if any, are you using on the Mac with your CU500? I have been sticking to BitPim (and recommend it). I am given to understand that OSX 10.4.9, the next update to Tiger should fully support the CU500, so that might be something to hang in there for (depending on what version of the operating system you have now).
