Can anyone tell me how much bigger the Pro Keyboard is than the origianal, smaller imac keyboard. I would really like to purchase one (esp. with the $10 off coupon from Apple), but I have a small desk area and I don't know if it will fit as well. Anyone know the dimensions? I couldn't find it on the Apple site.

I went ahead and took a picture of my old keyboard and my new pro keyboard. As you can see, there isn't much of a diffrence in size. Sorry for the image quality, I took it with my old QuickTake 200. If you have not ordered it already, it may be cheaper to order it at Outpost.com. They have free overnight shipping and no sales tax.

Using the Mac Pro Keyboard, how do you start/stop The Mac?

you can't use the keyboard for either starting the machine up or shutting it down since there's no power button. to boot you have to push the button on the front on of the machine. to shut the machine down you need to select "shut down" from the special menu.

Hello, to START UP the mac yes, you need to hit the power button on the machine, but with my Lombard and Pro KB, i can hit Control + Eject, and it brings up the shut down dialog. :-)

I don't know why no one ever mentions this but new Macs all start up differently than the old ones do. The Power Key is now the Monitor key. If you are using your i-mac, you simply turn it on with the button on the front of the machine. If you have a tower, old mac, you'll have to use the power button on the CPU.

I heard that 9.1 changed all that and now older macs can use pro k/b and have shutdown and startup.... I love the ADB Extended - one reason I grabbed Yosemite just before G4 - but ordered the Pro k/b (and free copy of 9.1 update CD it comes with) along with the $10 off deal.

I like the feel of the small old usb apple k'b but not the way that the keys are so close together and wimpy Fkeys which I use a lot. Which has been improved.

I'll know by the end of today.

control eject works under 9.1 on yosemite which didn't work previously to shutdown. but damn.... no startup? the old tiny apple usb at least would do that.

Apple has weird ideas on "what users want." I'd gladly give up one of the 3 volume buttons for something more useful -

I noticed that Apple does not mention anywhere, that when you buy the Pro Keyboard, it comes with the 9.1 update CD. Is this still true? And if it is, where do you see it? I couldn't find it on apple's site.
