What's the best way to get sound to sync with video, using this device. What compression method should I be using?

Also, how do I keep my videos small but still good quality? I tried to record a 3 min music video, in the medium sized screen and it was over 800mb. I am looking for max 30mb videos. How can I achieve this, or is it done afterwards with alternate software?

Thanks.

If you're running in OS9, you can save yourself a step by using iMovie. In OS9, iMovie "sees" the Formac Studio as a DV camcorder and will import directly. You can edit the video and do effects and then export to smaller sizes (like 320*240) with iMovie. What makes this even better is that you don't have to load up ProTV to change the TV channel or a/v source. Just use the Formac Studio control strip to change it on the fly.

Of course you can always just use ProTV and then a video editing software of your Choice. But iMovie is free and it works well with the Formac Studio in OS9. I haven't been able to get this to work in OSX yet though. The Formac Studio OSX software and drivers (Tevion) are still beta. This problem will likely be fixed in a future update (hopefully). But you can still get very good results by recoding in Tevion in OSX and then importing to a video app of your choice afterwards. Tevion may not have all the features of ProTV. But it's stable, has a very cool video-in-dock feature, and can control the TV tuner and select sources from the Formac Studio. For what you want to do, I'd stick with iMovie in OS9. regards.......joe

PS - can't help you with the audio/video synch problem since it doesn't happen here. If you're in OS9, you could try disabling VM. Since I have a full gig, VM is disabled by default.
