Hey everyone. I am hoping to get my new Macbook to use my existing printer which is plugged into my Dell desktop PC. I have a D-Link 802.11g router which I have used in the past with a family members mac so we could use internet on that computer. I figure I have to plug the Canon Multipass all in one printer into the router but how do I get the MAcbook to recognize the printer once it is on the network? Thanks!!

Run the Printer Setup utility found in the Applications/Utilities folder. It scans for printers advertising themselves via BonJour. If your printer needs to be configured manually, you should be able to connect to it using either IPP/LPR/CUPS/CIFS or some other protocol. :-)
