I want to buy a cheapo 68 pin Seagate SCSI 9 GB drive. They're 68-pin however.
The old PowerMac 8500/150 I have has a 50 pin cable connecting to the mobo and a 50-pin SCSI harddrive. There is only one connector as far as I can tell. What cable/adapter to buy?
By the way, this computer has got to have one of the worst case designs. Pain in the @ss to take apart.
For the 68 pin drive you'd be wanting a 50->68 pin adapter, now, I've had no trouble obtaining these in the past, but I'm in the UK, it seems that in the US at least they are less common... I doubt you'd see much advantage in such a drive anyway unless you upgraded the SCSI on your Mac.
If you want 9GB cheaply and can fit it into your case you could try http://www.softwareandstuff.com/h_hd...te410800n.html
They have some used 80pin 7200rpm ones too, you can get adapters for those easily.
