Hi,
I was plugging my 8 GB I/O Magic drive (powered via USB port) into the back of my Apple keyboard (just for convenience, reaching around the back of the iMac is h*** on my back). It was working fine for the first few times, then I got a message saying that the drive was drawing too much power and the USB port was shut down.

Being stubborn/stupid, I tried the other USB port on the keyboard, and same thing Now both ports on the keyboard don't work, and I can't figure out how to get power back to them.

Any suggestions or solutions to get those ports back on line???
(NOT to plug in my USB drive anymore of course...).

BTW, the drive works fine plugged into the back of the iMac...

Rebooting doesn't fix it?

Rebooting should fix it. The Mac shuts off the port that's drawing far too much power than it can supply. I thought I killed one of my iBook's USB ports this way.

Hey! You are correct, reboot did work to restore power to the USB ports. I just never shut down the iMac, so it never was restored...

That just seemed too simple a solution. But you know, I searched and couldn't find a related topic anywhere, in Mac help, this forum, etc.
