I'm on a Beige G3/266 pre-USB Macintosh. I've been wanting to purchase the Pro Keyboard and Mouse (yeah sacrificing the Power Button on the Keyboard).

I'm curious if anyones been using these peripherals on a Pre-USB standard Mac system. My understanding is that OS 9.1 may allow functionality on Pre MWE JULY 2000 Mac systems.

I've posted at Apples forums, and the moderator simply said there's no guarantee they'll work on a 3rd party USB card (but hey, he works for Apple and is probably promoting new hardware sales).

I've got OS 9.1 installed, and just want to know if it's even worth getting a USB card and the Pro Peripherals at all.

So what's the concensus on this? Anyone using this sort of set-up?

Thanks

Mike

Get a USB PCI card. It's one of the best addons you'll ever get for your Mac.

As for the pro stuff from apple, you should be good with those. I have heard of many reports of people successfully using them on beige G3's.
