I need a new printer for school. I've been using an HP 1220C for years, but I increasingly need to print 13x19 and this printer does not like doing it. It jams and streaks and basically makes me want to throw it out the window.
So, anyway. I had pretty much decided on an Epson 1280 for $400 minus a $100 rebate, So- $300
Then I decided to search this forum and found people crazy about Canons. The only one I see that does 13x19 is the Pro9000 for $500.
A $200 price difference is quite significant and I am wondering if other factors make this worth my while, such as ink costs, maintenance, etc.
I am not a photographer, I'm a designer. But, these need to be nice quality prints for class submission. I am totally against give a printing company $40 every time I want a print out, I can't swing that.
SO! High-quality, ease of use, 13x19.
Which one? Is Canon that much better to justify $200?
