I get this message from my monitor after starting up OSX (the problem does not occurr in OS 9) about half way though the boot process (before the blue screen but, after the grey screen with spinning next cursor) with my Sony A220 monitor.
Everything used to work fine, I lent my Cube to a friend for a couple of weeks, and now this!
I do have a KVM USB switchbox attached to my monitor and Cube/PC, the PC's fine, and if I start the Cube up but have the KVM switched to the PC, and then swich to my Cube/OSX AFTER my Cube has fully booted OSX, the desktop is ready and waiting, it's just if I select the Cube with the KVM and go through the wole boot process withe KVM switched to the Cube that I get the "out of scan range" error message.
My display will go to 1280X1024 @ 60Hz (on my PC and on my Cube "IF" I don't switch the KVM to my Cube (from my PC) until OSX is at the desktop).
If I select the recomended display modes in the displays prefrence panel in OSX, the only resoloution recomended is 800X600, and I still get the out of scan range message if I boot up with this resoloution.
My KVM/Cube/OSX used to play fine together; anyone got any ideas?
